A Roman Adventure

For a long time I wanted to visit this city, and yet every time an opportunity presented itself, I had to refuse. It just so happened that when the question of where to go for the next trip was risen, the answer was an unequivocal “Let’s go see Rome.”

We had no one to stay at, so we decided to connect this trip with another thing I’ve wanted to do for quite a while. CouchSurfing, the world’s most awesome social network, where people provide hospitality in exchange for foreign experiences. :-) My first real experience with this has been no less than awesome, thanks to Antonio and Marilyn, a brilliant couple who let us stay and made us feel wonderfully welcome.

Of course, I won’t even dare pretend that the choice of destination was unaffected by the fact that my dear companion happens to suffer from a rare condition called italophilia, when prospects related to a certain country suddenly become much more attractive. :-)

Rome is full of contrastful riches and unbelievable decadence, especially in context of Roman-catholic church. :-)

Overall, it was a brilliant trip… exactly the kind of experience that makes you satisfied for quite a time to come. :-)

And two very special ones for the end. One (a painting in Vatican) demonstrates the tolerance of catholic church towards different cultures…

…and the other demonstrates how to spend a night with an Italian guy who loves Mexico. :-D

You have really great taste on catch article titles, even when you are not interested in this topic you push to read it

Thanks, I try. :-) But in the end, it’s the photos that are important, anyway… if the first one doesn’t interest you, I’m out of luck. ;-)
